Got old blooms on your plant?? Cut them ugly things off!! Heres a quick how to guide so you dont shock your plant.

First i grab a knife or a pair of garden shears. If the plant in question has a rhizome root system DO NOT CUT THE DEAD FLOWER! They use the nutrients from blooms to store and grow next year but thats another topic.

So again….grab your shears. Cut back to the base of the stalk if the plant makes one bloom per stalk like Gerbera & Shasta Daisies. Or cut down to the next node like i did in this video.

I had transplanted these Daisies a few days prior and did not want to take away any healthy leaves from photosynthesizing. Cutting down to the next node from the flower was all i was comfortable with.

Go toss some dead flowers around
